My Professional Experience


I have two degrees in counseling: a Master of Arts in Theology, with a Pastoral Counseling emphasis, from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary, which is the degree under which I received my Marriage and Family Therapist license in 1986, and a second Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling from California State University, Hayward (now Cal State East Bay).

In addition, my professional background includes the following positions:
Unitas Personal Counseling in Berkeley
from 1981 to 1989
as intern, then as supervisor


Operation Concern (now New Leaf Services) in San Francisco
from 1989 to 1995, as coordinator of the AIDS Prevention Program
from 2001 to 2005, as a member of the Board of Directors, serving as Vice-President and Program/Services chairperson

Pacific Center for Human Growth in Berkeley
from 1999 to 2007, as supervisor faculty
from 2007 to 2010, on the Board of Directors, served as President and Development/Events chairperson

Adjunct Faculty, Institute for Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto
from 2003 to 2014, teaching "Introduction to Jung's Psychology" and "Human Sexuality"
